Job Description
About Andco Andco gets police, insurance, and medical documents for plaintiff law firms so they can move cases faster and scale without overhead. A case only moves as fast as the records, reports, and requests behind it, and too much of that work still runs through fragmented email, PDFs, portals, phone calls, and spreadsheets. We are building the operating layer that makes that work faster, clearer, and more reliable. The role We're hiring a Product Design Engineer to bridge product design and implementation. You will move between product thinking, visual and interaction design, and hands-on frontend execution. This is not a pure design role and not a traditional software engineering role. You should be comfortable turning ambiguous workflows into polished UI, then shipping the frontend work needed to make those ideas real. Who you'll work with You'll work directly with Andco's founders on product direction, customer conversations, design decisions, and implementation. At our stage, the product is still close to the people building it, so your taste and judgment will shape what Andco becomes. We care about plaintiff law firms because the operational burden around case documents slows down teams, clients, and case outcomes. The design challenge is to make complex, high-stakes legal and medical workflows feel simple, trustworthy, and fast. What you'll do Design and ship core workflows for Andco 2.0 with the founders. Build interfaces for the case lifecycle: document requests, status tracking, internal review queues, exceptions, follow-ups, and handoffs. Turn messy operational processes into clear flows, interaction patterns, and polished UI. Build and maintain a design system: components, tokens, patterns, and documentation that help us move quickly without losing quality. Ship simple UI changes independently, and partner with engineers on more complex product surfaces involving data modeling, edge cases, and architecture. Suggest and ship small feature requests that make the product easier for law firms and our internal team to use. First 30 days By the end of your first 30 days, you should understand the case lifecycle, including how law firms request, track, and use police, insurance, and medical documents. You should be working directly with the founders to ship early pieces of Andco 2.0, contribute to product and design decisions, and suggest or ship small feature requests based on what you learn from users and internal workflows. What we're looking for Think in terms of If we open-sourced this tomorrow, would you be proud to say this was your work? Must-haves Strong product design taste across layout, typography, hierarchy, and interaction design. Ability to implement frontend UI in React/TypeScript or a similar modern frontend stack. Practical understanding of UI state and data flow. You think in states, not just screens. Comfort with workflow-heavy B2B products where the best interface is often dense, fast, and precise. Comfortable using AI tooling to accelerate implementation while maintaining quality. Strong collaboration and communication, especially when working directly with founders and engineers. Nice-to-haves Experience owning or rebuilding a design system. Experience with legal, healthcare, insurance, logistics, fintech, or other operationally complex products. Familiarity with accessibility and performance best practices. Compensation $120k-$220k base, 1-3% equity, depending on level and fit.
