NextJS / React / Hono Engineer - Remote Contractor

At Avery HQ, we are building an AI Agent for Property Management. These are customer-facing agents that handle everything from solving maintenance requests to working with prospective tenants to help get their lease signed.  We are looking for a seasoned React (more specifically NextJS) developer to work directly with the founder to build product more quickly.

You will be responsible for:

1. Building both front-end and back-end for new features
2. Dream up new features and product direction that can make our customers’ lives easier
3. Working directly with our existing customers to debug any problems with our software.
4. Also owning a ground-up project to build a react-native companion app.

Our ideal candidate:

1. Has 6+ years engineering and coding experience
2. Computer Science bachelors/masters degree is a plus, but we really don't care about your degree; we care that you can ship clean, type-safe code in a Hono/Bun environment.
3. Deep experience with Hono/Bun, NextJS, Tailwind, and Postgres
4. Loves the early days of building new product and shipping quickly
5. Wants to make a direct impact with customers and work with a team that ships daily.
6. Well-versed with Cursor, Claude, other agentic programming tools.
7. Has interest in learning about property management and residential real-estate work
