Hiya's Voice Intelligence Platform protects 500M+ users from spam, fraud, and deepfake scam calls, and gives businesses branded, verified caller ID so the calls that matter get answered.
We're hiring a senior backend engineer for a small foundational team building our next-generation voice products from scratch: real-time SIP/RTP media handling, STT/TTS pipelines with tight latency budgets, deepfake detection and speaker verification, and conversational AI, all integrated directly into carrier networks. It's greenfield, so you'll be making the early architecture decisions, not maintaining legacy services.
Stack: TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes on AWS. Telephony experience (SIP, RTP, WebRTC) is a plus, not required. Team is distributed across Seattle and Europe, async-first; 3 days/week in the Seattle office.
