What these jobs actually are
A definition for 37 remote roles, from the official occupational record — and, next to it, what large employers and startups actually put in their listings. The second half is measured from real postings, with the count shown every time, rather than written up as a description.
Where this comes from
Official definitions and responsibilities come from O*NET, the US Department of Labor's occupational database, and ESCO, the European Commission's. Both are public record.
The employer half is counted from listings on this board: each one is split into its requirement and responsibility bullets, and a phrase is reported only once at least a quarter of the listings for that role and tier carry it. Percentages always appear with their denominator, because "4 of 12" is a measurement and "33%" on its own is not.
Some roles are missing an official definition entirely — product manager, UX researcher, SEO specialist, community manager, developer relations. Those job titles are newer than the occupational classifications, and inventing an entry would be worse than the gap.
