The BDM serves as Tauck’s advisor-facing sales representative among growth accounts, helping travel advisors grow their business through education, business development support, sales coaching, and relationship management. Through targeted outreach, training programs, events, and in-market engagement, the BDM identifies and develops agencies and advisors with growth potential, converting engagement into measurable passenger growth and First Time Traveler (FTT) acquisition.
Success in this role is measured by territory growth, advisor activations and contribution to regional sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Advisor Development & Growth
• Identify and develop high-potential travel agency partners and advisors within assigned regional accounts.
• Increase advisor engagement, education, and selling activity across the territory.
• Recruit and activate new advisors who are not currently selling Tauck.
• Create advisor growth plans that drive increased passenger production and market share.
Sales & Business Development
• Partner with Regional National Account Managers to execute regional growth strategies.
• Generate new business opportunities within existing agency relationships.
• Prospect and engage emerging agencies and advisors with strong growth potential.
• Support annual passenger growth, First Time Traveler (FTT), and business objectives.
Training & Education
• Deliver in-person and virtual training programs, webinars, lunch-and-learns, and agency workshops.
• Promote Tauck products, selling tools, and advisor resources.
• Support advisor participation in Tauck Academies, familiarization opportunities, roadshows, and educational events.
• Help advisors improve product knowledge, sales effectiveness, and customer conversion.
Territory Engagement
• Conduct regular agency visits and advisor meetings throughout the assigned region.
• Represent Tauck at trade shows, industry events, agency conferences, and local networking opportunities.
• Maintain a strong market presence and build Tauck brand awareness among advisors.
• Develop and execute territory engagement plans that maximize advisor reach and impact.
Relationship Management
• Build strong relationships with agency owners, managers, and frontline advisors.
• Serve as a trusted business partner and resource for advisors throughout the territory.
• Identify advisor needs, growth barriers, and competitive threats.
• Share field insights and customer feedback with Regional NAMs and Sales Leadership.
Business Planning & Reporting
• Maintain accurate activity tracking and pipeline management within CRM systems.
• Monitor advisor engagement, training participation, and sales results.
• Collaborate with Regional NAMs to prioritize opportunities and allocate resources effectively.
• Measure return on investment for territory activities, events, and advisor programs.
Qualifications
• 3–7 years of sales, business development, account management, or training experience.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence behavior.
• Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout assigned region.
