Senior Power BI Analyst

Nüvitek is seeking a Senior Power BI Analyst to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced business intelligence solutions using Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and related technologies. This role will serve as a technical expert in data analysis and business intelligence, leveraging AI technologies to uncover insights and support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, evaluate emerging BI and AI capabilities, and help shape innovative analytics solutions.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex business intelligence and data visualization solutions using Microsoft Power BI and related Microsoft technologies.
• Design and develop sophisticated Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and data visualizations that transform complex data into actionable business insights.
• Develop advanced data transformation and analytical solutions using Power Query, DAX, and related tools.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify meaningful patterns, trends, relationships, and opportunities that support data-driven decision-making.
• Apply advanced analytical techniques and emerging AI technologies to enhance business intelligence capabilities and uncover deeper insights from organizational data.
• Lead major technical assignments involving business intelligence, data analysis, reporting, and analytics solutions across multiple projects.
• Evaluate business intelligence solution performance and recommend significant improvements to enhance usability, efficiency, scalability, and overall business value.
• Serve as a technical expert and subject matter resource for Power BI, data analysis, business intelligence, and related technologies across multiple project assignments.
• Provide authoritative technical guidance on data analysis and business intelligence approaches, methodologies, and best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, technical teams, and leadership to understand business objectives and translate them into effective analytical solutions.
• Develop and communicate data-driven findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Establish and promote standards for Power BI development, data visualization, analytical methodologies, and business intelligence practices.
• Evaluate emerging business intelligence, analytics, and AI technologies and identify opportunities to incorporate them into Nüvitek solutions.
• Provide technical leadership during solution design, development, implementation, testing, and deployment activities.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other analysts and team members working with Power BI and business intelligence technologies.
• Contribute to the advancement of organizational business intelligence practices, methodologies, and technical capabilities.

What you will bring

• Obtain a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 8 years of relevant professional experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data visualization, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience working with AI technologies in support of analytics, business intelligence, data analysis, or related solutions.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong experience with Power Query, DAX, data modeling, and Power BI semantic models.
• Experience designing and implementing complex business intelligence solutions from requirements through deployment and maintenance.
• Advanced ability to analyze large and complex datasets and identify meaningful patterns, trends, and insights.
• Experience translating complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business and organizational stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of business intelligence principles, data visualization practices, analytical methodologies, and data-driven decision-making.
• Experience evaluating BI solution performance and recommending improvements to scalability, usability, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Ability to serve as a technical expert across multiple concurrent assignments.
• Strong understanding of emerging AI and analytics technologies and their application to business intelligence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

It would be great if you also had

• Experience supporting federal government customers or government contracting environments.
• Microsoft Power BI or related Microsoft certifications.
• Experience establishing Power BI governance, development standards, security models, and enterprise BI practices.
• Experience with advanced statistical analysis, predictive analytics, or machine learning.
• Experience leading BI strategy, modernization, or enterprise analytics initiatives.
