Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Delivery & Edge Security Engineer to serve as a senior technical contributor supporting application delivery and edge security platforms, including F5, A10, WAF, Cloudflare, and Akamai. The role will provide engineering support, platform design input, resiliency recommendations, and capacity planning guidance across enterprise application delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on engineering tasks, including configuration, maintenance, and operational support of application delivery controllers, WAF, and CDN platforms.
• Support onboarding and migration of applications into application delivery, WAF, CDN, and edge security platforms.
• Partner with network, security, and application teams to ensure consistent traffic management, security controls, and operational processes across on-premises, cloud, and edge environments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to peers through knowledge sharing, documentation, runbooks, and design discussions.
• Contribute to risk-based technical decision-making related to application delivery and security, evaluating impact and severity to protect proprietary, personal, and privileged electronic data.
• Implement and maintain network and application security best practices, including change controls, configuration standards, WAF/CDN/load balancer policies, monitoring, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex application delivery, network, and security issues across Layers 1 through 7, including DNS, TLS, HTTP, and CDN traffic flows.
• Communicate incident status, root cause, resolution details, findings, recommendations, and remediation steps clearly to stakeholders.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to high-priority incidents within defined SLAs and support maintenance activities during off-hour change windows as required.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, topology references, audit artifacts, and supporting evidence for security assessments.
• Support internal and external security assessments, audits, and questionnaires by providing technical input, documentation, evidence, and remediation assistance.
• Stay current with emerging application delivery, CDN, WAF, cloud, automation, and edge security technologies.

Focus Area

Technical execution and problem-solving related to network engineering and information security, with emphasis on load balancers, CDNs, DNS, TLS, firewalls, web application security, WAF policies, CDN security controls, and enterprise-grade application delivery platforms.

Basic Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting application delivery controllers and edge platforms such as F5, A10, AVI, Citrix, WAF, Cloudflare, or Akamai in an enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting cloud-native applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience securing applications using CDN, WAF, or edge security platforms.
• Strong understanding of HTTP, HTTPS, TLS, DNS, routing, switching, and application security concepts.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top Ten risks and related mitigation approaches.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex application delivery, network, and security issues across enterprise environments.
• Working knowledge of scripting, automation, or infrastructure automation tools is preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with F5 LTM, GTM/DNS, ASM/AWAF, SSLO, A10, AVI, Citrix ADC, Cloudflare, Akamai, or similar platforms.
• Experience with WAF rule tuning, CDN configuration, TLS certificate management, traffic steering, and application onboarding.
• Familiarity with cloud security controls, CDN security, DDoS protection, bot protection, and API security concepts.
• Experience with scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, or similar tools.
• Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, incident management, and operational support skills.

Required AI Skills

• Demonstrate baseline proficiency in enterprise-approved AI tools as part of day-to-day responsibilities.
• Maintain consistent use of approved AI tools, including GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other enterprise-approved GenAI platforms, with a minimum expectation of 90% weekly usage where applicable.
• Apply AI tools to improve productivity in coding, documentation, data analysis, troubleshooting, research, and decision-making workflows.
• Stay current with evolving AI capabilities and responsibly apply them to improve delivery quality, engineering efficiency, and overall velocity.

Compensation

Actual compensation range is 85k to 100K + Bonus + PTO + benefits

Mandatory Skills: F5 Load Balancers. Experience: 8-10 Years.The expected compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $158,000 . Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
