The listing, marked up
Nothing in the wording of this listing tripped a check. The scores above still judge how complete and coherent it is.
Maxana is hiring a Data Engineer on behalf of a fast-growing digital health platform in the U.S. You'll join their data team as a full-time contractor, building the pipelines and infrastructure that power analytics, product features, and clinical/operational decision-making. This is a fully remote role open to candidates based in Latin America, working U.S.-overlapping hours.
What you'll do:
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch and streaming)
• Develop and optimize data models in a modern cloud data warehouse
• Build robust ELT/ETL workflows and manage orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
• Partner with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver clean, trusted datasets
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting across pipelines
• Handle sensitive data responsibly and help uphold privacy and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA-aligned practices)
• Contribute to the evolution of the platform's overall data architecture
Requirements
• 4+ years of professional data engineering experience
• Expert-level SQL and strong Python skills
• Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data stack (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift; dbt; Airflow or similar orchestration)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• A track record of building reliable, well-documented pipelines at scale
• Strong written and spoken English (daily collaboration with a U.S.-based team)
• Based in Latin America with reliable ability to work U.S.-overlapping hours
Nice to have:
• Experience in healthcare, health tech, or other regulated data environments
• Familiarity with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD for data workflows
• Exposure to ML pipelines or feature engineering
Benefits
• $5,500 – $6,800 USD/month, paid reliably in USD
• Fully remote, long-term contract engagement
• Direct integration with a U.S. data team at a high-growth company
• Support from Maxana throughout your engagement
