Technical Writer

vCluster Labs is looking for a Technical Writer to join our documentation team. You'll write and maintain conceptual, how-to, and reference documentation across the vCluster Platform, working from design docs alongside engineers and standing up tenant clusters yourself to verify every procedure before it's published. Our docs serve a wide audience, from prospects evaluating vCluster to platform engineers. This is a hands-on role. You'll need to actually run the software, not just read about it, to write docs that hold up.

As a Technical Writer, your role will include:

• Documentation: Write and maintain conceptual, how-to, and reference documentation for vCluster, vCluster Platform, vMetal, and related tenant-isolation concepts.

• Verification: Stand up tenant clusters yourself to verify procedures, capture screenshots, and confirm CLI output before publishing.

• Collaboration: Work from projects, tickets, and design docs. Collaborate with engineers to fill documentation gaps surfaced by support and sales.

• Information architecture: Contribute to product information architecture, naming conventions, hierarchy, and concept organization across the docs site.

• Review and editing: Review and edit for consistency with our terminology and style guide.

This role could be a fit for you if you bring:

• Kubernetes fundamentals: Working knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals (pods, namespaces, control planes) and comfort using a terminal to run commands like kubectl and helm. You should have enough to understand the docs you're writing or reviewing, not necessarily enough to design a system yet.

• Technical writing: 2+ years of technical writing experience. You have demonstrated prior experience of strong technical writing.

• Workflows: Familiar with ticket trackers (GitHub Issues, Jira, Linear or similar), async collaboration with engineers on a global team, automated style/lint enforcement (such as Vale), and versioned documentation workflows.

• AI usage: You're comfortable and excited to use AI in your writing workflow, from drafting docs off tickets and design docs to using an AI coding assistant to verify a procedure works before writing it up to automating work with skills and agents.

Bonus points for:

• Prior experience with container orchestration, platform engineering, or infrastructure tooling

• Experience with tooling like Docusaurus, MDX, or similar

• Start-Up Grit: Experience working in a high-growth environment. You are comfortable with ambiguity and eager to make an impact.

Compensation Range: $130K - $170K
