Why this grade
This listing scored 68/100, which is a C. It lost the most ground on pay transparency.
- Description depth 20 / 20 How much the posting actually says about the work, measured in characters of real text.
- Freshness 15 / 15 How recently it was posted. Older postings are likelier to be filled or abandoned.
- Pay transparency 12 / 25 A published salary range, worth more than any other single factor because it is what a candidate cannot find out without applying.
- Remote clarity 8 / 15 Whether "remote" means anywhere, or is quietly restricted to one country.
- Corroboration 7 / 10 Whether more than one source carries this listing.
- Role specificity 6 / 10 Whether the listing is tagged well enough to tell what the role actually is.
Every figure above is arithmetic over the posting itself — its salary field, its text, its age, its tags and how many sources carry it. How the grades work →
Remote IT Security
Join the Intelance associate panel. The first engagement is expected to start in November 2026, subject to client approval.
Intelance is a UK advisory firm working on technology governance, cyber security and data governance. We are looking for a senior identity and access specialist to lead access governance work for a UK regulated investment firm. You will be the person the client works with day to day, backed by an Intelance engagement partner.
Tasks
- Lead the client relationship day to day, including the steering committee and weekly updates.
- Turn an agreed access design into a working plan with the client's system owners, and keep it on track.
- Own the single record of who can see which client information, and how it is kept up to date.
- Redesign how access is given, changed and removed when people join, move or leave, across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, a CRM and a cloud data platform.
- Run sessions with senior business owners to confirm access rules and exceptions.
- Guide the choice of an identity governance tool, if the client goes ahead.
- Write short, plain English documents that senior people outside technology can act on.
Requirements
- 12 years or more in identity and access management, with at least 5 years leading client or programme work.
- You have led access governance or role based access work in financial services, ideally asset management, wealth or private markets.
- Hands on experience of at least one identity governance tool, such as SailPoint, Saviynt, Omada or Microsoft Entra ID Governance.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint permissions and Entra ID.
- Confident with senior people, including general counsel, heads of technology and partners.
- You write short, clear documents without jargon.
- Right to work in the UK, and able to work through your own limited company.
- Desirable: CISA, CISSP or a similar qualification.
Benefits
- Day rate of £800 to £950, depending on experience.
- Contract role through your own limited company. We expect it to fall outside IR35, and we confirm this before you start.
- About 3 days a week in the first phase, then fewer days once the work is running.
- Remote within the UK, with occasional days in London.
- Senior, visible work with a regulated client, backed by an Intelance engagement partner.
- A place on the Intelance associate panel for future engagements.
Apply with your CV and answer the short screening questions. It takes about five minutes.
We reply to every applicant within five working days. If you are shortlisted, you will have a 30 minute call with us, then a short paid exercise of half a day. You join the panel once you sign our panel agreement and NDA. Please do not apply through an agency.
