Why this grade
This listing scored 66/100, which is a C. It lost the most ground on pay transparency.
- Description depth 20 / 20 How much the posting actually says about the work, measured in characters of real text.
- Freshness 15 / 15 How recently it was posted. Older postings are likelier to be filled or abandoned.
- Pay transparency 12 / 25 A published salary range, worth more than any other single factor because it is what a candidate cannot find out without applying.
- Remote clarity 8 / 15 Whether "remote" means anywhere, or is quietly restricted to one country.
- Role specificity 6 / 10 Whether the listing is tagged well enough to tell what the role actually is.
- Corroboration 5 / 10 Whether more than one source carries this listing.
Every figure above is arithmetic over the posting itself — its salary field, its text, its age, its tags and how many sources carry it. How the grades work →
This listing does not state a salary
$88k – $150k
That is the middle half of what comparable roles paid on this board over the last 90 days — 50 listings that did publish a figure, median $125k. It is not this employer's offer, and we have no idea what they pay. It is only what the rest of the market advertised.
Full-Time Senior Healthcare & Medical
Build the pharmacy business that powers the next generation of Medicare Advantage.
Clover is building more than a dispensing operation. We are building a strategic healthcare business that can improve access, medication experience, and outcomes for Medicare Advantage members.
As the General Manager, Pharmacy, you will assume end-to-end accountability for the build, licensing, performance, evolution, and long-term growth of Clover's pharmacy business. You will own the P&L, 0 to 1 pharmacy build plan, ongoing operating plan, growth agenda, organization, scaling roadmap, and member experience while ensuring that quality and compliance remain foundational.
This position requires frequent and meaningful onsite presence in New Jersey through development, launch, and ongoing operations.
As General Manager, Pharmacy, you will:
- Own the pharmacy P&L, annual operating plan, capital priorities, and a balanced scorecard spanning quality, growth, service, and financial performance.
- Own the end-to-end pharmacy build, assembling the internal team and selecting and managing external partners for facilities, technology, licensing, fulfillment, and launch as appropriate.
- Design and launch the pharmacy operating model, converting a fact-based assessment into a practical operating plan and clear accountabilities.
- Set the long-term business strategy and scaling roadmap, including capacity, facilities, licensing, technology, automation, staffing, and organizational design.
- Build and lead a high-performing management team, including the Pharmacist-in-Charge and pharmacy operations leadership; clarify decision rights between enterprise leadership and daily floor management.
- Establish a rigorous operating cadence and metrics across prescription volume and capture, unit economics, turnaround time, quality, compliance, member experience, and workforce performance.
- Drive pharmacy growth across Clover's Medicare Advantage membership through provider engagement, referral pathways, and a consistently strong member experience.
- Oversee licensing, credentialing, regulatory readiness, and operational compliance through appropriately qualified leaders and partners.
- Strengthen relationships with wholesalers, manufacturers, technology vendors, and other strategic partners.
- Partner with Pharmacy Strategy, Clinical leadership, and the Part D Stars Strategy & Care Initiatives team to execute adherence interventions and improve member outcomes without owning Clover's overall Part D strategy.
- Identify opportunities to extend the platform's capabilities and serve additional populations over time.
Success in this role looks like
First 90 days
- Establish an approved build plan, budget, leadership and partner model, regulatory critical path, and launch milestones.
- Align leaders on the operating plan, key performance indicators, and a sequenced 12- to 18-month scaling roadmap.
First 6 months
- Deliver measurable progress against quality, service, productivity, growth, and financial priorities.
- Strengthen provider referral and member-engagement infrastructure.
- Advance the facilities, systems, automation, staffing, and licensing work required for the next stage of scale.
- Build a durable management cadence and a leadership team capable of running the operation without dependence on the GM for daily floor decisions.
Long term
- Deliver profitable, compliant growth and increase prescription capture among Clover members.
- Build a scalable, resilient dispensing platform with strong quality and member outcomes.
- Establish the pharmacy as a strategic asset that supports Clover's broader care model and long-term growth.
You should get in touch if
- You have demonstrated experience launching a pharmacy or comparable regulated dispensing operation or program from concept through go-live.
- You have led a dispensing, specialty, mail-order, rare-disease, oncology, or digital pharmacy business through material scale, transition, or transformation.
- You have owned a P&L or carried clear accountability for the performance of a substantial business line—not only a single function.
- You are a proven enterprise leader who can set strategy, build an organization, and manage through other leaders while remaining hands-on when the situation requires it.
- You understand pharmacy operations, licensing, fulfillment, workflow, automation, quality, and provider engagement well enough to make integrated business decisions.
- You have operated successfully in a regulated, metrics-rich environment and know how to balance growth, economics, member experience, and compliance.
- Experience in an integrated payer, provider, and pharmacy environment—or in business integration, transition, and scaling—is strongly preferred.
- You can travel frequently to New Jersey and establish credibility with on-site teams.
