Website AEO Manager

About the Role
Buyer behavior is shifting. Compliance leaders increasingly research vendors through AI answer engines - ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot not just a page of blue links. At the same time, our website is where interest becomes pipeline. This role brings both under one owner: a high-performing website that converts, and a deliberate strategy to be discovered, understood and cited by the engines our buyers now trust. You’ll be the person who turns “AEO” from a buzzword into a measurable, company-wide capability at MCO.

Responsibilities
Website & conversion

• Own the strategy, roadmap and day-to-day performance of mycomplianceoffice.com, with conversion as the primary success metric.
• Drive conversion rate optimization (CRO): hypothesis-led A/B and multivariate testing, funnel analysis, form and CTA optimization, and continuous improvement of high-intent paths (demo requests, content downloads, contact).
• Design and optimize landing pages and conversion journeys in partnership with demand generation, so every campaign lands somewhere built to convert.
• Manage site performance and UX fundamentals - Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile experience, accessibility, information architecture.
• Own the analytics picture: GA4, heatmaps/session tools, HubSpot reporting; translate data into a prioritized backlog of experiments and fixes.
• Manage the CMS (HubSpot CMS) and coordinate any external developers, designers or agencies.

AEO leadership
Be the in-house expert

• Serve as MCO’s authority on Answer Engine Optimization how AI answer engines discover, interpret, trust and cite sources and stay ahead of a fast-moving discipline.
• Make our content citable and machine-readable: clear, factual, well-structured answers; structured data / schema markup; entity and topical authority; FAQ and comparison formats; technical signals for AI crawlers (e.g., robots directives, llms.txt, crawlability).
• Strengthen off-site presence that AI engines pull from review platforms (e.g., G2), authoritative third-party sources, and digital PR so MCO shows up credibly beyond our own domain.

Be the evangelist

• Build internal awareness and buy-in for AEO across marketing, product marketing, content, sales and leadership.
• Translate AEO from abstract concept into concrete, “here’s why it matters to your work” terms for each audience.

Educate the company

• Create and run enablement guidelines, playbooks, lunch-and-learns that teach teams what AEO is and the specific things they can do to help (how to write citable content, when to add structured data, how product and sales language shapes what engines surface).

Prioritize the roadmap

• Own and sequence the AEO backlog: identify the high-intent compliance questions our buyers ask engines, find where MCO is (and isn’t) being surfaced, and prioritize the content, technical and off-site work that moves the narrative fastest.
• Partner with content and product marketing to shape assets specifically designed to be discovered and cited.

Measure and monitor

• Stand up AEO measurement from scratch: track MCO’s visibility, mentions, citations and share of voice in AI answers across the key engines; monitor AI-driven referral traffic; benchmark against competitors.
• Report on AEO performance to marketing leadership and connect it, where possible, to pipeline influence.

Experience and Skills

• 5+ years in digital marketing, web/SEO, or growth marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS.
• Demonstrated conversion/CRO results you’ve run experiments that measurably improved website performance, not just managed a site.
• Strong SEO foundation that you’re actively evolving toward AEO / generative search, with a real point of view on how AI is changing discovery.
• Fluency with web analytics and experimentation tools (GA4, heatmaps, A/B testing) and comfort turning data into prioritized action.
• Hands-on CMS experience and a working understanding of structured data/schema and technical on-page fundamentals.
• Excellent communicator who can teach a non-technical audience and rally cross-functional teams around a new idea.

Nice to Have

• Experience marketing to financial services, compliance, risk or other regulated, considered-purchase buyers.
• HubSpot (CMS and Marketing Hub) experience.
• Early, hands-on experience with AEO/GEO tooling and AI-answer monitoring.
• Comfort working with developers and briefing/managing agencies.
