The role & impact

As the GTM Director for the UK, you will drive the strategic execution of go-to-market initiatives across the region during a 12-month parental leave cover. Acting as the critical link between product development and commercial teams including Sales, Marketing, and Operations, you will lead regional alignment, oversee strategic programmes, and ensure major product launches deliver on commercial objectives.

In this pivotal leadership capacity, you will hold decision-making authority for regional GTM trade-offs, resource allocation, and market readiness. By bringing trusted strategic direction, establishing operational cadences, and promoting AI-enabled execution, you will maintain momentum across key work streams and ensure seamless delivery for our UK partners and customers.

The team & how they connect

The UK Operations & Strategy team drives regional operational priorities to support Xero's overall strategy and product delivery. They act as the vital connector between product development and Go To Market teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations), combining commercial focus with quality market insights to strengthen our market position.

Initially, you will focus on

• Defining, evolving, and executing the UK GTM strategy and operating model across regional commercial events and regulatory deadlines.

• Leading cross-functional alignment forums across Sales, Marketing, Product, and CX teams to drive shared accountability and clear decision-making.

• Overseeing the UK GTM roadmap using tools like Asana while leveraging AI technology such as Claude to streamline delivery and cross-team communication.

• Maintaining comprehensive documentation across all strategic initiatives, relationships, and decisions to prepare for a smooth handback to the permanent role holder.

• Familiarity with modern project portfolio management tools such as Asana or Jira to keep workstreams transparent and organized.

• Curiosity and practical experience using AI tools to boost efficiency, streamline reporting, and improve daily workflows.

• Exceptional communication abilities, suited to synthesizing progress, risks, and recommendations for executive leadership and steering committees.
