Why Tractable?
We combine world-class AI research with real-world applications that make a difference. At Tractable, you’ll collaborate with brilliant minds, work on transformative projects, and contribute to technology that helps people when they need it most.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Supply Chain & Inventory Operations Specialist to manage the flow of materials, components and finished systems across our operations, and to bridge the gap between hardware operations and accounting.
You’ll own purchasing, inventory tracking and hardware-related accounts payable, working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Finance and our suppliers. You’ll keep system records accurate, make sure materials are available when production needs them, and run the month-end inventory close.
The role is fully remote, with periodic visits to our Salt Lake City facility for physical inventory audits, cycle count setup and process alignment.
What You’ll Do
• Purchasing and suppliers: Raise and track purchase orders, manage supplier communication, monitor lead times, confirm deliveries and expedite critical orders.
• Accounts payable: Process hardware-related invoices, perform 3-way matching against receiving records from our on-site team, manage vendor payments and reconcile vendor statements.
• Inventory control: Keep ERP inventory records accurate and set the procedures our on-site team follows for receiving, material movement and shipping.
• Month-end close: Run the inventory and AP close, prepare journal entries and supporting schedules, and reconcile inventory subledgers to the general ledger.
• Cycle counts and audits: Design cycle count schedules, review variance reports, investigate discrepancies and lead periodic on-site audits.
• Material planning: Work with production to make sure components are available when needed, and flag supply risks, delays or shortages to leadership early.
• Records and process improvement: Maintain central digital records for shipments, receipts and inventory adjustments, and improve workflows to strengthen accuracy, cost control and supplier performance.
What We’re Looking For
• 3+ years in supply chain, inventory control, purchasing, logistics or operational accounting in a physical product, hardware or manufacturing environment.
• A solid understanding of purchasing, inventory management and accounts payable processes.
• Experience with month-end close tasks such as journal entries and inventory reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP or inventory system (NetSuite strongly preferred).
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills for inventory and financial analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
• Clear communication and the confidence to work independently in a remote role.
• Willingness to travel to Salt Lake City 2–4 times a year.
Nice to Have
• Experience in hardware, manufacturing, automotive, robotics or technology.
• Experience with international shipments, freight logistics and customs documentation.
• Familiarity with bills of materials (BOMs), standard costing and work orders.
• Experience designing and auditing cycle count programs.
• Familiarity with 5S or lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers.
What Success Looks Like
ERP inventory matches what’s physically on the shelves. Shipments arrive on time, production runs without material-related delays, and vendor invoices are matched and paid accurately. Month-end inventory accounts close smoothly, and the on-site team has clear, simple procedures to follow.
You’ll take full ownership of our remote supply chain systems and operational finance workflows, and help build processes that scale as we grow.
What's In It For You
• $75,000-$95,000 base salary + equity
• 25 days’ holiday + public holidays
• 401k (50% match up to 6% of your salary)
• Health, dental and vision coverage
Diversity commitment
At Tractable, we are committed to building a diverse team and inclusive workplace where people’s varied backgrounds and experiences are valued and recognised.
We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and offer equal opportunities without discrimination.
