About Standard Bots

Standard Bots is America's largest manufacturer of AI-native industrial robots. Full-stack robots—hardware, software, and AI—all designed and assembled in Glen Cove, New York. The company makes AI-native robots anyone can buy and deploy, with customers ranging from family-owned machine shops to the Fortune 500. Customers include Sunoco, Lockheed Martin, NASA, and the U.S. Army, along with hundreds of manufacturers nationwide. Standard Bots raised a $200 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation from RoboStrategy, General Catalyst, Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, and Samsung Next.

About the role

You're the front door for everything Standard Bots buys to build, test, and demo physical robots: prototype parts, test fixtures, shop tools, pilot and trade-show builds. Engineers and customer-facing teams count on you to get what they need fast, and you'll keep the controls tight while you do it. And you won't do it by hand forever: you'll build AI-assisted workflows so routine requests move with almost no manual touch.

📍 Location

This is a full-time, remote role open to candidates in the US. You'll sit on the Finance team, report to the Accounting Manager, and work closely with teams across the company.

What you'll do

- Run the internal purchasing queue end to end: intake, clarify specs, source, buy, track delivery, and close out.

- Respond to every request within one business day and turn standard purchases around the same day.

- Triage urgent R&D and customer POC needs so engineering work never sits blocked waiting on a purchase.

- Keep requesters posted on status, ETAs, and substitutions, so nobody has to chase you.

- Find the right vendor on price, lead time, and quality, and get quotes on larger purchases.

- Set up and maintain vendors in Ramp, including W-9s, payment terms, and vendor ownership.

- Build a preferred-vendor list and negotiate pricing or accounts with high-volume suppliers.

- Issue POs, confirm receipt, and act as vendor owner and first invoice reviewer. The Accounting Manager is the second approver.

- Enforce the purchasing policy and approval thresholds, and route exceptions to the right budget owner.

- Tag every purchase with the correct GL account, department, and project, so R&D, POC, and capex costs are clean at month-end.

- Flag fixed-asset purchases to the Accounting Manager with the details needed for capitalization and asset tagging.

- Keep records audit-ready, with approvals, quotes, receipts, and invoices tied to each PO.

- Roll out the move from open Ramp card spend to centralized purchasing: communicate the change, train teams, and manage the transition.

- Report monthly on spend by department, category, and vendor, plus cycle time and open requests.

- Spot recurring purchases and convert them into standing orders, catalogs, or blanket POs.

What you'll bring

- 3+ years in purchasing, procurement, or purchasing-focused operations, ideally at a hardware, robotics, or manufacturing company.

- Hands-on experience with a spend management platform (Ramp, Brex, Coupa, or similar) and PO-based purchasing.

- Working knowledge of basic accounting concepts: GL coding, capex vs. opex, accruals, and three-way match.

- Ai Automation - this role scales through automation, not headcount. You’ll build AI agents to run intake, vendor comparisons, POs, invoice matching, and status updates, document every workflow so others can run it, and keep pushing up the share of requests that close with no manual touch.

- A service mindset: you're fast, responsive, and comfortable juggling many small requests at once.

- Strong judgment on when to follow policy and when to escalate.

Nice to have

- Experience standing up a purchasing function or rolling out a new spend policy.

- Exposure to audit-ready controls and fixed-asset tracking.
